Coaching for self-development and transformation

Navigate the complexity of life with more effectiveness, meaning, and fulfilment.

Are you ready to live a life filled with more joy, purpose, meaning, authenticity, and connection? I’m here to help you uncover more of your innate wisdom, resourcefulness, and creativity so that you feel more empowered to flourish.

You already have the capacity to be loving, joyful, compassionate, courageous, open-minded, passionate, powerful, peaceful, blissful, and so much more, as life evokes these qualities in you.

Unfoldment: go beyond self-improvement

My approach is based on unfoldment as a paradigm for transformation, rather than self-improvement.

Self-improvement tells us that we need to change, fix problems, try harder, and become our "best selves"to find happiness. While well-intentioned, this approach can leave you feeling like you're never quite enough.

Unfoldment starts from the premise that you are already whole and complete. Through self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-love, unhelpful patterns and limiting beliefs naturally soften and release. This process unlocks more of your innate wisdom, resourcefulness, and creativity, leading to spontaneous growth and transformation.

Why unfoldment?

Less:

  • Self-deficiency

  • Stress and chronic fatigue

  • Overwhelm and burn out

  • Disconnection and isolation

  • Disappointment with outcomes

  • Stuckness

More:

  • Being enough exactly as you are

  • Clarity about your needs and wants

  • Direction and purpose

  • Resourcefulness and creativity

  • Fulfilling relationships

  • Flow and happiness in life

Who’s this for?

This offering is for anyone ready to develop more fulfilling and meaningful ways of being.

Often, people seek life coaching because they are:

  • At a crossroads or navigating a major life transition

  • Feeling stuck or unfulfilled

  • Seeking deeper connection with themselves and others

  • Searching for greater meaning and purpose

  • Feeling a deep sense of longing

How does it work?

We'll start with an intake session to explore your journey and vision. With that as our guide, we'll use coaching conversations to identify the inner challenges that arise in your daily life. By working with these impediments in our sessions, blockages to soften and dissolve.

Practical details

  • Self-development requires time. Ideally, I suggest working together for at least six months, typically meeting every other week. I recommend meeting every week for the first month to build momentum.

  • If you decide to work with me, I will ask you to commit to at least four sessions on a regular schedule to evaluate whether my coaching style is a good match for you. These initial sessions involve some learning, so it is important to allow time to establish this foundation.

If you choose to continue, I’ll again request that you commit to a certain number of sessions following a consistent schedule. Of course, there’s flexibility to accommodate your life circumstances and other important events in your calendar.

I make these requests because commitment to your goal and consistency are essential for this work to be transformative.

  • I offer sessions online or in person at the Freshwater Wellness Centre near Manly, Sydney.

  • For a limited time, I’m offering coaching by donation because my current focus is on deepening my Aletheia coaching practice and pursuing accreditation by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). This is a unique opportunity for you to benefit from Aletheia coaching for a fraction of what it typically costs.

Frequently asked questions

  • Yes. However, I offer a developmental style of coaching that is distinct from what many people think life coaching is about. Here's how:

    • Focus: Life coaching often emphasises goal-setting, action plans, problem-solving, and success. My approach focuses on helping you recognise your deepest inner resources and cultivate fundamental well-being.

    • Starting point: Life coaching is typically based on self-improvement. My approach recognises that you are inherently a whole and complete human being.

    • The change process: Life coaching often relies on willpower, discipline, and external motivation to take action. Unfoldment emphasises presence, self-acceptance, and self-love as the catalysts for spontaneous growth and transformation.

  • Therapy and coaching can both support personal growth, but their scope and focus differ significantly.

Therapy is essential if you might be facing a mental health condition (e.g., anxiety, depression, trauma) or feel significantly burdened by past experiences. Directly addressing mental health challenges is outside the scope of coaching.

Coaching can be a great option if your primary goal is to navigate life’s challenges and decisions more wisely and effectively, explore what’s next, discover deeper meaning and purpose, or find more fulfillment. While therapy can also facilitate these goals, coaching offers a different and more specialised approach.

In some cases, a combination of therapy and coaching can be beneficial. While coaching isn't a substitute for mental health treatment, it can complement one’s healing journey.
